Can you name a few more? I have only seen Sony support AAC on their PMP devices.
Samsung has supported AAC for 4 years now.

Any have a guess guess what this might mean for the 11"? Will that have to be even more of a compromise? I'm worried the C2D/320M might be a better option for me if Apple go for Sandy Bridge and have to cut even more corners on the 11" due to even harsher space/energy drain constraints.
If the CPU option for an 11" bump is only a marginal performance increase (*if* Apple choose to bump this summer), the nVidia GPU seems too good to lose.
I can't/don't need to buy right now but it seems I might be good off planning it a bit.
As for the gaming comments, give it up already. Personally, I want *one* (1) computer and I want to to be as portable as possible. That means both work and entertainment, some of that being the occasional game. And I realize it'll be a compromise. I won't buy it for the sake of gaming but why should that stop me from trying a few of them out?
There are a lot of games out there, some being more playable than others on an MBA. Don't expect everyone to "need"/want max detail at native resolution @60fps. I'm fine with fps dips and low/med details. If it plays it plays. It's as if the MBA could only ever do monochrome text games. Can we stop seeing the world in an "either it'll be the best ***** ever, or it'll blow chunks" kind of way? Things are bit more nuanced than that.
I'm wondering if we are underestimating hardware nowadays. To me it looks pretty nice, *especially* at the "low" end.

How has Apple NOT innovated on the Mac line up?
- Completely redesigned and absolutely beautiful architecture on the insides of the Mac Pro
Is there anything really innovative there? I don't think so. Yes, MacPro is an example of beautiful engineering, but there's not much innovation in there.
- MagSafe
Apple was first to use magnetic power-plug in a computer, but the idea of using magnets is definitely not new. Such power-plugs have been used in deep fat fryers for a long time already
- 24" all in one machine
That's not an innovation, they simply took an existing model and made it a bit bigger. Or do you think that increasing the size of a computer monitor is an "innovation" no-one could come up with? That is a similar "innovation" when Intel releases a 2GHz CPU, and a bit later they introduce a 2.2GHz model. "Whoa, a CPU that is slightly faster then the previous model! I never could have imagined this!"
- Front Row/apple Remote/iSight in every "portable" Mac
Quite a few laptops ship with media-software and webcams. Dunno bout remotes though.
- Two finger right clicking on trackpad
Is that what can be considered an "innovation" these days? Apple has two finger clicking for the sole reason that they do not have a second mouse-button. PC-laptops have no need for that feature, since they all have 2 or more buttons right from the start.

2GB of RAM
Wow, no one saw that one coming!!
Maybe something in the higher models needed 2gb of ram.. Or apple is just being its kinds self and giving us 2gb instead of 1gb to make us happy :) Or trick us into thinking we are getting a good deal for our money when we really arnt! Ahh the confusing ways of apples marketing structure! But I sure cant wait for my 2.33GHz stock 15.4inch Macbook pro! I will be paying that back for the rest of my life ;)
Has anyone esle seen that the apple.com/macbookpro image looks white.. kinda looks like a ibook

Someone at iPhone Dev Forums said that iOS Simulator in Lion will gain ability to download/run apps.
That pretty much means that another "groundbreaking" feature in Lion is ability to run iOS apps (besides iOS Simulator).

Does anybody else see the 9.6 inside the apple?
Sept. 6th?
Whatever it means, it's interesting.
After you point it out, yes, I do, but I can't imagine that Apple would give ANY clues to future release dates/announcements.
They did with the iPad 2.

I don't feel like reading through 6 pages of comments but, I can attest that most retail stores will tell you to call the cops but not get involved. I've never worked fast food but have been told that from working in a drug store for several years.
At the same time, however, some common sense is needed. I'm pretty sure if I was in this situation, policy or not, I'd be stopping them. This isn't like one little slap and some yelling, this is a brutal assault. For that matter, I get the feeling that the person taking the video isn't an employee, just a hunch. If so, why the hell didn't they think to do anything but pull out their damn cell phone and video tape it? For that matter, they were laughing at one point which is just downright heartless.

Nope, don't believe a word of this report, not one word. This will be next years iPhone if it's true, not this years. Why would Apple re-design it 2 years running when it's selling by the truck load?

265 negatives. 95 positives.
Wow, tough crowd.
IMO it doesn't look THAT bad. You all have to understand Apple is really pushing hard to get (iOS) iPad users to switch to OS X for their desktop needs as opposed to Windows switches. There are so many iOS features that are being built-in, I guess Apple figures they'll add the same visual cues in their applications to make it a simpler transition.
It's funny though, the OS itself is more monochrome this time around, but their applications are much more...."festive". :|
-Stell
The audience here are the most toughest critics, but general public will appreciate the changes.
I personally see nothing wrong with making software look like a real thing. It's one of the most natural user interfaces because people know how to use books, paper, and folder tabs.

And since WINE/Codeweavers isn't Windows, it merely lets Windows applications run under OS X, it isn't troubled by the 200,000 Windows viruses, trojans etc. lurking out there.
Well... actually there are some viruses and trojans that are able to operate within the Wine environment. :p
Of course as far as I know, so far it's always been a case of "Hmm... I wonder if I can get worm xxxxxx to run under Wine?" :D

Just been on a business trip to Florida and stayed at a hotel in West Palm Beach. The car park and surrounding area were planted with these trees. I think they're banyan trees, a type of fig. Can anyone confirm or otherwise? At night it was lovely to stroll outside and listen to the insects chirping. The lights in the car park lit the trees from underneath giving them a very LOTR look! We were taking a big exhibition with us and everything was just on the limit weight-wise so I daren't even take a monopod, it was so close, so the camera was hand held for this photo. It's not sharp enough to enlarge but wanted to share the look of the place!

Looks like a Strangler Fig. There is interesting info in the Wiki link below.

The program in the US Army (basic training) was designed to burn 5000 calories a day. Basically you were moving 16 hours a day. Just can think of doing 12k or 30k calories a day.
Anyone know how many calories someone burns running a marathon?
Michael Phelps consumes 13000 calories/day, but he's a world-class athlete, not a world-class cow.

do you know how dumb that is? He's moving on to a new company. Along with multiple other people. Also, he was dead on about the Verizon iPhone a YEAR before everyone else. I think his inside sources are more accurate than you think.
Also, remember when everyone thought the leaked iPhone 4 was really ugly and there was no way it was real. Exactly...
